What do I eat? or more specifically, what do I cook so that I can follow my dieticians advice and eat more muscle repairing protein, good fats to maintain my weight, and nutrient dense food to ensure I am meeting my daily requirements.
The food markets don’t have an aisle that says “get your protein here”. So what do you do? You can guess, use trial and error, find resources here and there or you could join a like minded culinary community that provides many of the answers you are looking for. My purpose in building this community is to help people transition from a PEG and back to oral eating, or, just to expand their repertoire of food in their PEG in a safe and nutritional way. I wanted a better way, a community of people who want to use whole food as their medicine and get back to oral eating as soon as they can. What other complementary therapies are out there to assist the transition and set you up for your best version of you in the future?
I found the transition from PEG tube to mouth quite difficult and I know about food!
